Self Care is NOT Selfish!

We have all heard it’s important to find time to do the things that make us happy, things that make the sun shine just a bit brighter.

But when the reality of the blues seeps in, or the stress of parenthood, or early recovery, or whatever situations one may face that trigger a sense of despair- self-care can often seem impossible- and to some, selfish.

It becomes a Catch-22 of sorts.

You feel depressed or over-stressed, and either you don’t want to do ANYTHING (much less for yourself) or you have so much to do you feel there is no time for yourself.

These are precisely the reasons why self-care during the most challenging times is imperative.

Learning to be disciplined with providing self-care, especially during the most taxing times, will prove to reap incredible benefits. Whether you go for a walk, read a book, exercise, get your hair done, dance, etc. you will, even momentarily, see immediate results!


Also, when we find a little sunshine for ourselves, it makes us all so much more enjoyable to be around. Our family and significant others prefer us in a good mood!

We owe it to ourselves and our loved ones to take care of ourselves.

There is nothing selfish about self-care.

Nothing.
